Event Details

Violence against women has many faces: it can be physical, economic, psychological, environmental, and linguistic.

This year, in collaboration with La Biblioteca Italian Library, we want to commemorate the World Day for Violence Against Women differently, in a constructive way, mixing voices and experiences, images, memories, even atmospheres.

We are asking you, us all, as contributors to answer the question 'What makes you think about violence against women today?'

It could be a photo, a comment we read in the newspaper, an object or something that catches our attention walking down the street.

An excerpt from a book, a song, a video or a poem, a short story.

They will be collected and edited into a video that will be broadcasted at the Italian Library on the 22nd of November from 6.30 pm.

This video should hopefully sparkle a debate among us and we will exchange opinions, talk, even come up with new ideas.

On that same evening, Alya Eyres, CEO of Mother Choice, will visit us at the Library for a short talk on the story of women who, amidst a thousand difficulties, are forced to abandon their children.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to Mother Choice.

We look forward to everyone's contributions. Thank you!
